CBI has arrested the former tourism minister of Karnataka and mining czar G Janardhana Reddy in connection with the case of illegal mining on Monday, television reports said. Ramos was in a court of the ICC in Hyderabad in the afternoon.
Srinivasa Reddy, the CEO of the Obulapuram Mining Company which is owned by the former minister, was also arrested.
The CBI team of Hyderabad in the early hours of the raid on Monday Reddy house and took him to an undisclosed location for questioning, reports said. Srinivasa Reddy was also questioned.
The probe of the action agencies came a day after Ramos and former Deputy Minister of Karnataka B Sreeramulu resigned his membership of the Assembly to protest against the BJP’s refusal to give ministerial positions and keep out of the Ramos brothers Bello Ministry.
The ruling BJP in Maharashtra seems to be about to face new challenges as Sreeramulu resigned his membership of the assembly. Rumors Sreeramulu as cool as thought to float a regional party, but sources close to him refused to confirm.
Outside Sreeramulu and his brother was Janardhana Reddy G Karunakara upset after the BJP high command for its inclusion in the ministry headed by Chief Minister DV Sadanand Gowda, in the wake of a report accusing the Lokayukta operation illegal mining.
The powerful Reddy brothers, who had control over the administration of the district of Bellary have been exposed to the crisis, having lost power.
It is alleged irregularities in the mines of the OMC, which is owned by the brothers – G Karunakara Reddy, G Janardhana Reddy, G Reddy Somashekara.
