Computer prices are likely to increase next month, this is due to records of these chips are not balanced and not enough to meet demand. Some manufacturer of memory chips also have not received a semiconductor device that is necessary to produce the memory. The main suppliers of semiconductors, ASML Holdings NV, is able to deliver 33 immersion scanner (much less than needed).
DRAM producers are currently being switched to below 50nm manufacturing process (nanometers), but not all manufacturers are able to follow the transition. Though to produce the chip under 50nm technology requires immersion tool that is still less in number.
Chipmakers such as Samsung, Hynix, and Micron has successfully perform under the 50nm chip manufacturing process. However, one of several other manufacturers Elpida Japan still does not work, the new producers will switch to 45nm process this quarter.
If it does not go well, then it can be ascertained the amount of chips that are available will be below the market demand and will trigger a decline in prices of computers and computer sales growth. Earlier computer-year growth in 2010 is predicted to reach 49%, likely will drop to 45%.
